Who is providing the stepped care services?
With any available services, it is important to consider the training of the service providers, whether that be tele-coaches who may be trained for six weeks or more, GP providers of FPS, provisionally qualified psychologists, clinical psychologists, mental health workers or others.
It is important that GPs understand the roles of different health professionals in order to ensure an accurate referral, decreasing the need for the patient to explain their situation to multiple health professionals.
Thinking about how these services communicate with acute care is important, because GPs may need to understand how best to manage the severe end of the spectrum quickly and effectively.
