Distance learning – The new COVID-normal
Although some training providers are resuming delivery of their face-to-face workshops, these activities may run at a limited capacity for some time. Redeveloping existing training and education via distance-learning formats is an alternative that doesn’t involve face-to-face contact.
We encourage training providers to submit a distance-learning application to the GPMHSC. This involves providing a written response that:
- gives specific details on the distance-learning software and technology used
- addresses how the software and technology will monitor and record attendance and active participation of attendees
- offers a clear explanation on how the distance-learning experience aligns with the same requirements of face-to-face education
- outlines details about interactivity and, more specifically, how the new platform will encourage participants to ask questions and interact with the facilitator and other group members.
