New standards for mental health training

The GPMHSC has officially released the Mental health training standards for 2023–25.

This document outlines the specific training GPs must complete to be eligible to access general practice mental health care MBS item numbers under the Better Access initiative.

The guide also outlines the learning outcomes and course content requirements for GPMHSC-accredited training and how training providers can apply for accreditation of courses, and what to do after accreditation.
