Eating Disorder Credential for GPs from ANZAED
The ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential for General Practitioners formally recognises the essential role GPs have in the early identification, medical management, and coordinated care of people experiencing eating disorders.
This national Credential focuses on core competencies in screening, assessment, diagnosis, and the ability to refer to appropriate treatment services. It supports GPs in providing informed early intervention and strengthens the overall care pathway. Developed in collaboration with the National Eating Disorder Collaboration (NEDC) and funded by the Australian Government, the Credential sets a national standard for safe, evidence-based care. It ensures individuals with eating disorders can access the right treatment sooner, starting with their GP.
What you’ll receive when awarded Credential:
- A verified digital badge
- A personalised certificate to display in your clinic
- A post-nominal to add to your professional title
- Access to mini-webinars and resources
- Inclusion in the searchable directory
Credentialing recognises your commitment to delivering person-centered, recovery-oriented care. With eating disorders affecting 1 in 20 Australians, GPs are crucial to early detection, coordinated care, and relapse prevention.
