Participate in local practitioner networks
Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) is a national initiative that aims to improve interdisciplinary and collaborative mental health care practices between psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and GPs.
Professional network meetings can provide a forum for practitioners to connect, build relationships, provide peer support and improve referral pathways for their patients. This is particularly important for GPs because patients with mental health concerns are more likely to first see their GP than any other mental health professional.
Visit the MHPN website to find out more about joining an established or new local network in your area.
