GPs Updating Provider Numbers

To ensure GPs are getting their mental health skills training reported to Medicare in a timely manner, training providers can include a reminder upon the notification of completion of a training activity, to ensure their provider numbers are updated with the RACGP.

This is an important and often overlooked step and can lead to delays in GPs being able to claim mental health item numbers, and provide mental health services to their patients.
